We're excited to announce new bike rides in collaboration with the LA River Rangers!
This will be a no-drop, educational bike ride for all ages along the LA River. This bike ride will feature stops where the River Rangers will teach us about native plant species and wildlife that inhabit the LA River.
Timeline of Events:
9-10AM : Bike Clinic
10-10:30AM : Introduction and Safety Talk
10:30-12PM : Bike Ride
We will be offering five loaner bikes from our Adopt-a-bike program for folks who need a bike for the ride. After the ride, riders can adopt the bike after signing a release of liability form. These bikes have been abandoned on metro bus stops and train lines. Healthy Active Streets refurbish and fix these bikes to give to community for free to address inequities and environmental injustices. Please email [email protected] with the subject line Loaner Bike for Sept Bike Ride and include your height so we can choose a proper bike for your height.
The Conservation Corps of Long Beach River Rangers is an organization that engages young adults to foster connections between communities, agencies, and resources to promote safe, equitable usage and stewardship of the LA River.
