After leaving the beach tonight from running the stairs, I was stopped at the light on Pine & Broadway and saw a young guy riding his bike in front of me in the crosswalk going west on Broadway. While he's halfway thru the crosswalk, I see a motorcycle cop with his lights on, following the guy in the crosswalk and onto the sidewalk in front of Kings Fish house. I had to pull over to see what was going to happen to this guy. Was he getting a ticket for riding in the crosswalk and on the sidewalk? So I took a photo that is not very clear, but I wanted a reminder of the need for a city sponsored bike education program. For both bicyclists and police officers. The guy did get a ticket and although I could not hear what the officer said, I saw him point at the bike lane on the street and motion towards the one on 3rd Street. We must do better Long Beach.
