We are happy to announce our next bike ride! 

Healthy Active Streets is collaborating with the Conservation Corps of Long Beach to bring a free beginner friendly bike rides for anyone who wants to attend! 

HAS will be conducting a bike clinic where we will repair bicycles for free! We are not able to do any big fixes like changing brackets but we can fix flats and other small repairs to your bike for the ride. HAS are the ride marshals for this ride. The Conservation Corps of Long Beach will be providing their knowledge around LA River, plant species and local wildlife. 

This bike ride is 6 miles round trip. There will be some descends and ascends but none that are too long or hard. Our bike rides are always beginner friendly so family, friends and kids are all welcome! We will be stopping along the LA river to hear from the Conservation Corps of Long Beach around how we can protect our waterways, the wildlife and plant life surrounding the LA river.

Adopt a bike 

HAS through LA metro will be providing 5 bicycles to give away and loan out to folks who want to attend the ride but dont Have a bicycle. These bike loans are on a first come first serve basis, please email [email protected] with the tag Line “LA river ride bike loan” so we can get you situated. These bicycles are bikes we get from LA metro through the adopt a bike program, all bikes we give away are bikes that are abandoned on metro buses, trains and subways lines. We fix them and give them  to communities for free as a way to address needs of equity, environmental justice and access to clean mobility
